Adolescent Depression Tools

Depression Resource Guide

AAP Bright Futures and the US Preventive Services Task Force recommend screening adolescents for depression at every well-visit. This resource guide is designed to assist busy primary care practitioners (PCCs) in accessing practical, evidence-based tools to help them successfully screen for and treat depression in adolescents.

Adolescent Depression Resource Guide

The adolescent resource guide includes an algorithm to aid in the initial assessment and corresponding treatment approach (of adolescent depression), screening tools and guidance, and a psychopharmacology guide. In addition, the resource guide provides instruction related to adolescent depression referral and co-management criteria/strategy, and highlights required provider background knowledge and proficiencies, National Quality Forum (NQF)-related quality measurements for Meaningful Use (MU), and recommended interventions for the treatment of adolescent depression based on available best-evidence.
