Fostering Connections Training Modules

Promoting Health of Children in Foster Care

Fostering Connections are self-paced, on-demand online courses that were developed by the Family and Children's Resource Program, part of the Jordan Institute for Families at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work with funding from the North Carolina Pediatric Society. These courses were originally developed for child welfare professionals. However, Community Care of North Carolina is partnering with the North Carolina Pediatric Society to make these courses publicly available and expand the knowledge base off professionals serving the foster population.

Below you’ll find two self-paced, on-demand, online courses and two brief “extras.” Each course has its own link.

  • Fostering Connections I: Partnering to Improve the Health and Well-being of Children in Foster Care. This is a brief course for child welfare line staff, supervisors, managers, and directors aimed at optimizing collaboration between social services, medical homes, and local Community Care Networks.
