CCNC in the News
Northwest Reduces ER Readmissions. Northwest Community Care's efforts to reduce ER return visits in Yadkin, Surry, Davidson, Wilkes and Forsyth counties were recognized in this article in the Greensboro News & Record. Great job, Northwest Community Care!
Sandhills Addresses ED Prescriptions. Inspired by Project Lazarus, FirstHealth of the Carolinas has recently adopted a new policy on emergency department administration of narcotic and sedative medications. With representation from local organizations including Sandhills Community Care Network, the hospital system has created a Narcotics Prescribing in the ED Task Force. Read more here.
Project Lazarus training sessions underway. Training for providers on pain issues and opioid prescribing has been held in Fayetteville, with additional training programs scheduled for Winston Salem, Wilmington, Hickory, Boone, Raleigh and Reidsville in the coming months. PCMH Content Expert Certification. Congratulations to Cheryl Alberty, MBA, MHA and Heather Rothrock of Northwest Community Care Network on receiving NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Content Expert Certification!
CMIS Updates Go Live. In June, CMIS enhancements include new report features in CMIS account management, new reports in the Practice Home Tab, and new case load reports for CM support staff. Review the full list of updates here.
IC KPI Report Released. The July 2013 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report release is now available on the IC Reports Site. Enhancements and changes to the reports include a new "year ending" parameter, "non-capitated" columns and program level analysis. Read the full list of enhancements here.
NCQA Activities Survey & Public Comment. The NCQA Education Team values your opinion and wants your input as they plan their educational activities for 2014. Complete the 10-minute annual survey here by July 15. NCQA is also updating the PCMH standards and guidelines to reflect trends in the health care field and place greater emphasis on outcome measures. NCQA invites all parties to comment on proposed updates to the PCMH standards until July 22. All feedback submitted within the public comment period is reviewed and addressed by NCQA.
Recovery Champion Award Nominations. Do you know individuals who have dedicated their talents, whether through professional work or volunteering, to successfully promote mental health and/or substance abuse recovery in NC? Recognize their contributions by nominating them for a Recovery Champion Award presented at the 5th Annual NC "ONE Community in Recovery" Conference.
